A young singer steeped in the musical tradition of Ireland who at 14 won the acclaimed All Ireland Traditional Singing Trophy. In the 90s she took over from Kate Rusby as lead singer with Equation. She has since gone on to form her own band with Sam Lakeman.
Still only in her 20s her voice is probably best known from the sound-track to Billy Connolly’s recent BBC TV series. Her latest album is due for release in September on Rough Trade Records.
A regular on at folk festivals and use to performing at much larger venues this promises to be a great opportunity to hear a rising star and her band – Sam Lakeman – Keyboards, Ben Nicholls – Double Bass, Callum McColl – Guitar, Liam Bradley – Drums, James O’Grady – Uillean pipes.
